FAQ FOR YOUR LAS VEGAS WEDDING
I WANT TO GET MARRIED. WHAT DO I DO?
First, choose a package & select the a la carte items that will make your day uniquely yours. Once you have made a 30% non-refundable deposit on your wedding with The Lucky Little Chapel, your date is secured. You can apply in person for your marriage license on the same day as your wedding- all in one trip downtown!
To apply for your license for Las Vegas Weddings, visit online to complete a pre-application and then go to the Clark County Courthouse, located across the street from the chapel. You can park in our building, walk to the courthouse, and then come back and get married. The courthouse is open 365 days per year, including holidays, from 8 AM – midnight. The cost is $77 cash or $80 for credit. You and your fiancée will need a photo ID, and to appear in person. To pre-apply online and save time, see the link below.
With the exception of busy days (like Valentine’s day), this process usually takes 15 – 30 minutes. The license is good for one year. If you do not use your license within a year of purchase, you will need to go to the courthouse again to reapply. For this reason, we recommend you purchase your license the same day as your ceremony. The Courthouse located at 201 East Clark Avenue, in downtown Las Vegas. For more information on obtaining your license and to pre-apply, visit http://www.clarkcountynv.gov/depts/clerk/Pages/PreApp.aspx.
IF I LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE, BUT WANT TO GET MARRIED IN VEGAS, DO I GET MY LICENSE IN VEGAS OR IN MY HOMETOWN?
You must get your license in Vegas to have an official Las Vegas Wedding.
I WANT TO RENEW MY VOWS. DO YOU NEED PROOF OF MARRIAGE?
We will need the date of your original marriage, the city you were married in, and your signature to verify that you are married.
I AM FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY. IF I GET MARRIED IN VEGAS, WILL IT BE LEGAL WHERE I LIVE?
Yes! You may need to complete additional documentation depending on the country you reside in, but the marriage is recognized all over the world.
DO YOU TAKE WALK-INS?
Yes! Walk-ins are welcome. However, due to our proximity to the courthouse and how busy we are, we recommend you make a reservation either online or over the phone to ensure we can accommodate you. Walk-ins will be served after reservations booked at the same time.
HOW MANY GUESTS CAN THE CHAPEL ACCOMMODATE?
Las Vegas Weddings can get busy as a destination wedding, and because of this, we can accommodate up to 25 guests. For parties larger than 30 people, please call the chapel and we can assist you further.
CAN MY GUESTS TAKE PHOTOS, VIDEO, OR FACE TIME?
No. Guests may take photos after the ceremony is completed but not during the ceremony, inside the chapel. If you would like to bring your own photographer or have your guests allowed to take photos, video, and/or face time, you may opt to simply rent the chapel. Chapel rental is $700 per hour and is subject to certain terms and conditions which must be approved prior to booking.
CAN I HAVE MY OWN PASTOR PERFORM THE CEREMONY?
Yes. There is a small service fee to bring in your own minister and he or she must be licensed in NV and in good standings. Please call for pricing.
IF I BOOK A PACKAGE, CAN I ADD OTHER A LA CARTE ITEMS?
Absolutely! It is still considered a package if you add items. Some items maybe interchangeable. Call for more details!
IF I BOOK A PACKAGE AND THEN DECIDE TO ADD OTHER ITEMS WHEN I CHECK-IN, CAN I DO THAT?
Yes! However, for flower orders that may be more customized (colors, etc.), we recommend that you order in advance of your wedding.
WHY ISN’T THE OFFICIANT’S FEE INCLUDED IN YOUR PRICES?
Almost all chapels in Vegas contract their officiants. The officiants are licensed through their church and are not employed by any of the chapels. The donation is in honor of the legal service they perform for you. When you check in for your ceremony, you will receive an envelope for their services. Once your ceremony is completed, you will give the envelope/donation directly to your officiant. You can pay with cash or credit card.
WHAT IS THE CEREMONY LIKE?
Typically, your actual ceremony will be about 5-10 minutes in length. You can choose a civil ceremony (non-religious) or a Christian ceremony. You may also choose traditional vows or contemporary vows. We recommend you plan on everything taking a minimum of an hour, to accommodate for check-in, guest seating, the ceremony, photography, and photo selections.
CAN I GET A WITNESS?
If you don’t have any guests, we will happily provide a witness for you!
DO YOU PERFORM FRIENDSHIP COMMITMENT CEREMONIES?
We may perform friendship ceremonies on a case-by-case basis, depending on the situation. For example, we will not perform this ceremony if you are currently married to someone else.
